Fuel and electricity price increment might affect operating costs of tertiary institutions – LCCI DG
The Director-General, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mr Muda Yusuf has remarked that the activities of tertiary institutions in the country may be incapacitated due to the recent hike in electricity tariff and fuel price by the federal government.
According to Mr Yusuf, institutions of learning in the country largely depend on generators for power so the tariff review will have an effect on the operating costs of these institutions.
He called on the management of institutions to review their business models and further explore the prospects of alternative energy sources like the use of gas or renewable energy.
